Hello, my name is Elinor and my love affair with baking began as soon I was tall enough to stand on a kitchen stool and reach for the rolling pin.

Growing up in a traditional Welsh farming family, some of my fondest childhood memories are of helping my mum in the kitchen; baking scones and sponges for the family to enjoy that evening once dad had finished milking the cows.  

As I got older my passion for baking grew, and I quickly became very busy making celebration cakes for my family and friends. Then, in the summer of 2018 I decided to pursue my entrepreneurial cake-loving dream with the launch of 'Elinor Bakes'.

 
Since then my wonderful clients never cease to inspire me with their ideas and have trusted me to create some beautiful and unique designs for their special occasions.

I make all of the cakes out of my home in Garthmyl – halfway between Welshpool and Newtown – and already my daughter, Isabelle, is showing the same passion for cakes as I did at her age (although she sometimes struggles to understand why she is not allowed to eat them all).
